The Kitchen Cabinet Health Care Plan

No one knows more about what’s going on in doctor’s offices, hospitals and clinics across the country,  than women.

Here are some constructive ideas women around the country suggest to improve health care and make it more affordable and competitive in the U.S.:

1)      Support health insurance companies who follow the customary practice of life insurance providers and reward customers with lower premiums who:

a-Don’t smoke

b-Don’t drink or reduce consumption

c-Exercise and maintain a healthy weight

2)      Support health insurance companies who reduce premiums and customize insurance for consumers who demonstrate a commitment to wellness and preventative care and minimize trips to the doctor.

3)      Support health insurance companies who reward customers who show a commitment to wellness and preventative care for their children.

4)     Encourage the Food and Drug Administration to work with national fast food chains and restaurants in reducing portions of high-fat foods and soft drinks.

5)      Support health care providers who post customary pricing guides for medical services and procedures on the internet.

6)      Encourage Congress to make health insurance more competitive and portable in the United States by allowing insurance companies to sell to customers anywhere in the United States.

7)      Provide price structures for consumers who want to pay cash for medical and dental services.

8)      Create new mid-level, privatized wellness and urgent care facilities to better serve  low-income and poverty-level Americans.  Services in these clinics would be available to anyone for the price of a co-payment based on income level.  Clinics could be supported by government and private funding, manned by training medical professionals and retirees and nurse practitioners.

9)  Return emergency rooms to their essential purpose of treating serious and critical medical cases.

10)  Support “TeleDoc” and web-based systems where patients who need minimal care and medical advice can sign up for simple telephone consults with certified providers who maintain their medical histories and can provide basic prescriptions and diagnostic assistance.

11)  Encourage Congress to explore ways to reward women with government tax credits who complete their education before becoming mothers.

12)  Eliminate exclusions from insurance coverage for pre-existing conditions for consumers who maintain health care coverage.
