Cabinet Bulletin: Keeping Our Schools Safe

Obama Administration Officials Pushing Gay Education In Our Public Schools Using Gay Pledge Cards

Let’s Act: Sign the Petition!

Demand A Congressional Inquiry of SAFE SCHOOLS Instruction!

The Kitchen Cabinet is petitioning the House Education Committe Chairman George Miller on behalf of all concerned American parents to investigate recent revelations about Obama Education appointee Kevin Jennings and his leadership of the “SAFE SCHOOLS” and “ANTI-BULLYING” programs of the U.S. Department Education, which are alleged to be disguising gay education in U.S. schools.

Okland, CA Kindergarten Gay Support Pledge CardThe national news media and the blogosphere have been airing more revelations about Obama Department of Education appointee and gay activist Kevin Jennings, and his longtime agenda to make gay sexuality and gay instruction a part of public school curriculum, even to our youngest children. As featured on “Hannity” and other conservative news shows and websites, Jennings is the founder of an astounding website sponsored by an educational organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (“GLSEN”). GLSEN says it “strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression,” but the organization seems to be dedicated to offering unbelievably perverse book lists for educators and encouraging gay instruction to school children, pre-school aged through high school.

In several states gay activists have used the terms SAFE SCHOOLS and ANTI-BULLYING as a pathway to use tolerance or anti-discrimination as an opportunity to offer instruction about gay sexuality in pre-schools, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. Under the law in many states, parents may not opt out of such lessons, or receive notice or the opportunity to consent. In other words, gay education is introduced by surprise – and by law.

An investigation by Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government and picked up by First Things, Michelle Malkin, and a dozen other credible national websites have revealed that GLSEN activists, in partnership with Planned Parenthood, had actually provided “sex kits” and instruction to early teens at a recent education conference. The instruction was given on a particularly unhealthy and perverse gay sex act known as “fisting.”

The details are here for those with strong constitutions.

This example of a gay pledge card given to Oakland, California Kindergarteners last year will take your breath away. The card encourages 5 year olds to “pledge” to watch out for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender adults. The card was distributed to entire schools in the Hayward Unified School District this past year as part of SAFE SCHOOLS and ANTI-BULLYING curriculum called “Coming Out” Week.

Parents of children in a Kindergarten class at Ringwald Elementary in Oakland, were given no notice of the “special” education planned. Many in the low-income neighborhood of Ringwald Elementary didn’t even speak English, and were forced to ask translators to tell them what their children signed. As you can see by the sample card, Ronald was barely old enough to even write his own name. It is the agenda of many gay activists across America to bring gay education to children in public schools, ” as early as possible.”

Equally amazing, the California Safe Schools Coalition has released an advisory for school lawyers giving explicit instructions on how to block any parent who wishes to try and “opt out” their children from gay education in a public school.

Do parents have a constitutional right to prevent their children from receiving education in public schools on subjects they disapprove?

Almost never. Parents have filed a number of court cases seeking to prevent public schools from teaching their children controversial literature or subjects . . . and have lost virtually every case. Courts have held that so long as the public school curricula are secular and reasonably related to educational goals, parents do not have veto power over the content of public school instruction. . . . Schools may wish to excuse students from non-essential activities (such excusing a Jehovah’s Witness student from a Valentine’s Day party) but are not legally required to excuse students from curricular activities such as . . . diversity education. The interests of the school and student in education outweigh parents’ interests in preventing their children from being exposed to ideas that conflict with religious traditions.

[Here's the guide's concluding paragraph:]

[By] carefully articulating the purpose and content of diversity education programs, schools can both fulfill their legal duty to ensure a safe and nondiscriminatory school environment for all students, and also avoid violating parents’ notice and opt-out rights.

California, of course, is a state where gay activists have been hardest at work. Gay storybooks have been discovered in 40 different school and public libraries, placed without taxpayer or parental review or consent. Massachusetts has also been a battleground for this issue, and in other states where gay marriage has been legalized, like Iowa, Vermont, and Hawaii, courts have already set precedents stating that parents have absolutely no right to challenge gay instruction in schools where gay marriage is legal. However, any state in the U.S., any school district, and any neighborhood school is vulnerable to gay activists who, under the “Safe Schools” umbrella, decide to introduce gay instruction. To date, Courts have ruled against parents in the U.S., when they have challenged public schools after their children were victimized by literal classroom “ambushes” and exposed to gay curriculum without notice or consent of parents.

This is a job for a coalition of conservative women like The Kitchen Cabinet.
